Asked by: 3971 views Flight Instructor

Hi I'm starting my CFI training, but I have a question, the flight school that I do my training with don't have a complex plane they have a 150, can I do all my training in the 150 and then go to an other school and do the complex work. Also can I used two different planes for the check ride. Please help. Thank you.

Yes and yes. All maneuvers can be demonstrated in a C-150, and all the complex maneuvers can be demonstrated in a complex aircraft. 2 airplanes can be used for checkride as well. Not a good idea and never recommended though.
You will have to prove your knowledge, and skill, and go over the airworthiness of 2 different airplanes, and have both of them available for the checkride at the same time.
From my experience, teaching CFI initials for the last 16 years, 2 airplanes is ALWAYS bad news. But to answer your question, yes it is possible and legal.
