Logging time part 135 instruction?

I have an opportunity to ride along with a friend who works for a part 135 operation in a Cessna Caravan. I have my CPL and my friend is a CFI. can I log any of this time as dual? I know this wouldn't  be a problem under part 91 but is it different under part 135? how can this work? any additional info and feedback is appreciated

    It depends on the regulation part under which the aircraft is being operated at the time. It is common for Part 135 operators to have an aircraft fly one leg under Part 135 and another leg under Part 91. For example, fly a customer to a location under Part 135, drop the passenger off, and return the aircraft to base under Part 91.

    14 CFR 135.115 prohibits the PIC from allowing you to manipulate the controls while the aircraft is in a Part 135 phase, but you could manipulate the controls during a Part 91 phase. Of course, I would also make sure that has the approval of the company.

    Here is a cut and paste of 14 CFR 135.115:

    135.115 Manipulation of controls.

    No pilot in command may allow any person to manipulate the flight controls of an aircraft during flight conducted under this part, nor may any person manipulate the controls during such flight unless that person is –

    (a) A pilot employed by the certificate holder and qualified in the aircraft; or

    (b) An authorized safety representative of the Administrator who has the permission of the pilot in command, is qualified in the aircraft, and is checking flight operations.
