FIA vs AFA

Hello, can you clarify something for me? If I am CFI helicopter (expired) and I want to take the written for CFI airplane which of the two exams I have to do the FIA or AFA?

    You are already a CFI. Airplane will be an added rating for you. You need AFA.

    The initial instructor knowledge test does not require an endorsement. Oddly, the AFA does.

    My initial CFI certificate was glider, so when I added on airplane about a year ago I need to 1) get an endorsement for the 2) AFA test.

    I assume you know that when you pass the airplane instructor check ride your CFI-H will be renewed as well. Good luck!
