OK Guys, here's another one.

Can the aforementioned count toward the 3 hr.s hood time needed for the PPL?

Why do you ask? Does 61.109(a)(3) say

    “3 hours of flight training”
    during the day
“in a single-engine airplane on the control and maneuvering of an airplane solely by reference to instruments, including straight and level flight, constant airspeed climbs and descents, turns to a heading, recovery from unusual flight attitudes, radio communications, and the use of navigation systems/facilities and radar services appropriate to instrument flight;”
    ?

    Nope. I didn’t think so.

And it doesn’t mention ‘hood’ time either.

So it could be night and IMC. Whether that would prudent on the part of the instructor, or beneficial to the student is an entirely separate question…

…although I think you’d have a hard time justifying the 10 full-stop landings as being “by sole reference to instruments”.

So the short answer would be yes, but nooooo!

    Good luck.
