I'm a student pilot, and was wondering if you can use a professional-type logbook for completing your PPL. I'm planning on taking aviation into a career, hence why I'd like to use a logbook like this.

Ace Any FAA Written Test!
Actual FAA Questions / Free Lifetime Updates
The best explanations in the business
Fast, efficient study.
Pass Your Checkride With Confidence!
FAA Practical Test prep that reflects actual checkrides.
Any checkride: Airplane, Helicopter, Glider, etc.
Written and maintained by actual pilot examiners and master CFIs.
The World's Most Trusted eLogbook
Be Organized, Current, Professional, and Safe.
Highly customizable - for student pilots through pros.
Free Transition Service for users of other eLogs.
Our sincere thanks to pilots such as yourself who support AskACFI while helping themselves by using the awesome PC, Mac, iPhone/iPad, and Android aviation apps of our sponsors.

Absolutely – you can use any logbook you like. You also might want to consider a digital option like SafeLog (they advertise here – but I’m actually a fan)

Hi Gary, thanks for the kind words. Indeed, we don’t just ‘advertise here’, but we own and run this site as a service to the community. however, we aren’t around as often as we’d like (too busy on working on our projects), and we’re in awe of the great people who take care of this site properly, answer questions, and the like.

Gary – for your kind and unsolicited words, we’d like to thank you with some free subscription time on your safelog account. Please contact us via our helpdesk letting us know who you are (as we have a few gary moore’s on account). Also, to young master Luke, we’d like to give you a free copy of Safelog to help you get your logging going right. Please contact us as well via our helpdesk at http://www.dauntless-soft.com/helpdesk after you’ve signed up for a free demo account at http://www.SafelogWeb.com

(note to all: this is a one-off offer to the two people only as a response to this sponteneous conversation- – please do not write us asking for freebies – we hope you can understand. Safelog is very inexpensive compared to our only serious competitor to use and we think we have the best eLog in the business by a long shot – free demo and, if you happen to be using another eLog, we’ll help you transition your data for free)
