Asking this for a good friend of mine. He and I both started out together. We both purchased our own Cessna 150 and ended up taking lessons from the same freelance CFI at the same airport. We are about the same age... in our '60's. Both took PPL lessons in our 30's but did not complete.
My friend is going for his Private license and I for my Recreational license. Here, is the one place we defer.
So, my friend was taking lessons from this CFI. Piling on the hours week after week. Then this CFI said he was busy (this week) and my friend should go up next lesson with this second freelance CFI at the airport. So he did. Back and forth from one to the other. Now some 80 hours later my good friend still has no license and no clear indication when he will have one.
Now, before you all pile on my friend I have tried to explain all this to him but he's a nice guy and not one to question authority. Hence, the perfect student for these folks.
So my question is... is this proper or even ethical.
