Logging Student solo PIC/XC

Asked by: 1289 views Commercial Pilot, Student Pilot

I'm awaiting my PPL check-ride. If I fly additional student solo endorsed XC hours now, before my PPL rating, will the solo XC time build towards both the 100 PIC/50 XC hr requirement for Commercial Certificate? or do I have to be rated to build the 100 PIC/50 XC?

Thanks,
Caden

Yes it will count. All the Reg requires is 100 hours properly logged as PIC, 50 of which are properly logged as cross country. 61.51 tells you you may log those flights as PIC and 61,1 defines what is usable as cross country time.

It’s the dual requirements which present issues about the use of prior time, not the general experience requirements which follow standard logging rules.
