Visual approach for C172?

Asked by: 1552 views Airspace, General Aviation, Instrument Rating

I would like to shoot an approach of KMRY, which is KMRY RACEWAY visual 28L.

It is kind of Visual, so not an IAP, but it uses LOC, and the airport itself stays in Class C airspace.

I think it is interesting because it is different from common traffic pattern entry, and has a nice view such as Racetrack, Mountain, Monterey beach and pebble beach

The approach sheet says it is for Turbojets, but I only fly C172.

Is it possible to request and land there?

Perhaps I am looking at the wrong chart, but the MRY RACEWAY VISUAL RWY 28L I am looking at doesn’t say anything about “TURBOJETS ONLY” or any other similar remark.

So you should be fine in your 172.

Where are you seeing this remark?

Even if it did say “TURBOJETS ONLY”, you could always request it. The worst that could happen is to be denied.
