PICUS XC time towards ATP PIC XC 200 hours requirement

Asked by: 1349 views , , ,
Commercial Pilot, FAA Regulations

I've completed my flight training and currently hold CPL ME/SE. My training progress: PPL SE → PPL IR SE → CPL ME → CPL SE addon. Under my multi engine commercial training I was able to log quite a bit of PICUS XC time (pilot in command under supervision). Later I was told by another instructor that I can't count PICUS into my total PIC time. Would there be the same restriction for XC PIC time towards restricted ATP rating 200 hour PIC XC requirement? (I have about 15 PICUS XC hours)

There is a recent question that I answered titled “Combined Private Pilot Instrument Certification. The info there should answer your question.

If you have any remaining questions, pose them here and I will do my best to answer them.

In short, the regulations don’t provide for logging PIC under supervision.
