Question on Impact of new ACS Standards on Oral Portion of PPL Checkride –

Okay, so in the "old" days, folks had a pretty clean distinction between the oral part and the physical follow on PTS check ride. I am reading that the new ACS now has a candidate being expected to talk almost continually during the physical flying part of the check ride. Check ride candidates are expected to articulate what they are doing all the time. For example, at all takeoffs a candidate is expected to say that they are complying with noise abatement procedures as part of the skill set.
So how is this affecting the pre-flight oral part? I guess getting a high 90's score on the written knowledge exam may no longer have the impact it had before ACS came into effect.
I guess my question to CFIs and recent folks who have completed the a PPL check ride is this:
How intense is the DPE's "second oral portion" of the check ride during the actual flying evaluation. Do you think the written knowledge exam score means much any more?
