ADX & ATM

Asked by: 1761 views Commercial Pilot

Greetings friends! I possess an FAA Aircraft Dispatcher Certificate (ADX). I am beginning my ATP training soon. Since the written for ADX and ATM: ATP - Airplane (Multi-Engine) are the same, do I still need to take the ATM again? Thanks.

Sorry to say, you will have to sit the ATM written.*

Although the question data bank is supposedly the same for ATM and ADX, there are some questions that are unique to each qualification.

*You will also need to complete an ATP-CTP course before being eligible to sit the written. (61.156)

There are no exemptions listed for Dispatchers in the CFRs. (61.155)

Regardless of whether anyone thinks they are exempt, or advised that they are, the Testing Centers will not let you sit a written if you do not match their qualification matrix.
