Asked by: 3386 views FAA Regulations, Flight Instructor, General Aviation

I can’t find FAR Parts: 21,23,29,39 basically anything under Part 47 in the FAR/AIM 2019 book. Can someone help me with this? Thanks!

You can’t find them because they’re not included in the book you have.

I assume you are using either the ASA FAR/AIM or the Gleim FAR/AIM, the two most common books.

Understand, these are just companies that print out the actual regulations in a book format. There is no government-printed “FAR/AIM” book.

Instead, ASA and Gleim print, in book form, those parts of the regulations that are most pertinent to the intended audience. The “FAR/AIM” is intended for general aviation pilots, but there are others. For example, ASA also has a “FAR FC” which is intended for Flight Crews (with different sets of regulations included but of course some overlap) and “FAR AMT” which is for mechanics.

So, if you want Part 21, you either need to buy the FAR AMT (which includes it), or just reference it online.

Also, understand that the printed FAR AIM books are generally obsolete as soon as they are printed (or before). There is no federal government “2018 version of the regulations”. They change whenever they change as laws are passed, and the only up-to-date source is the link provided by Gary above.
