Pirvate pilot glider to Helicopter add on written requirements

I already hold a Private Glider Pilot Certificate and I'm almost ready for my Private Helicopter Checkride. My question is... Do I need to take the Private Helicopter Written Exam? (and if you could specify where in the regs it states whether or not it's required)

    You will need the knowledge test. 61.63 (b) (4), since the glider category rating is not mentioned to exempt you from the additional knowledge test.
