Flight engineer time;atp

Asked by: 2078 views Commercial Pilot, FAA Regulations

I have read thru the FAR's.  I see where my FE time applies towards ATP.  What I am trying to process is does that same time apply to R-ATP?  I ask because if it does not, then with my FE time I can apply for ATP 250 hours before R-ATP?  Can someone clarify this for me?

You can add up to 500 hours of FE time towards the 1,500 hours of Total time required for the R-ATP. As long as you meet the other requirements for a R-ATP, you can apply your FE time towards the R-ATP Total Times up to 500 hours.
