Endorsement 61.31 (d)(2)

Asked by: 630 views Flight Instructor

Can someone please explain to me how number 70, 61.31(d)(2), in AC 61-65F works? Do you give them the endorsement for their solo or for the check ride?

The purpose of the endorsement is to allow a rated pilot to act as PIC of an aircraft for which he is not rated. It needs to be issued prior to the pilot conducting solo operations in such an aircraft. The endorsement for the practical test is 61.63 (b), (c) or (d).

This stuff should have been covered during your training for the Flight Instructor certificate, or if you don’t currently have one, it should be covered during your training.
