Student Pilot Flight Training Interface.

Flight Instructor, Student Pilot

Hello,

I am a design student in Boston, MA. I am working towards my design degree project focus in flight training. I want to create a web interface/app that can help the student pilot and the instructor to communicate better through a series of tools within the app.

The app will potentially offer:

  1. A personalized student/tracking progress system ( it will keep track of the student hours, ground school readings that are due next class, etc)

  2.  It will also include a calendar section where the student and instructor can schedule training lessons or rescheduled them when necessary.

  3. A community section where local students can interact with each other and potentially share their experiences and challenges during flight training.

  4. In-app electronic plane checklists (for all training planes) as well as electronic
    flight log books.

I am aware some of these ideas may face real life challenges when it comes to regulations. But keep in mind this will be a student project. My intention with this app is to provide a user-friendly interface so that more folks can become pilots.

I will greatly appreciate any comments, suggestions (books you recommend) or any ideas you believe I am missing?

Thank you!

I dont see any huge regulatory issues other than compliance with FAA guidelines on electronic logbooks. You will not be the first to create something like this.
