If the glide path is lost on a precision approach, what approach type does this then become?

For me, a missed approach. You can brief for this as a localizer approach if there is a localizer option on an ILS, but not all ILS have a localizer option. I would rather a re-do.

At that point it would become a non-precision approach. There are many different opinions on what you should do if you lose your glide path on a precision approach. Ultimately, as PIC its your call (especially for Part 91 ops), but as part of your approach brief for a precision approach you will want to verbalize what you are going to do if you loose the glideslope before you begin the approach.
