On the GTN 650 what does it mean when the LPV annunciation changes from green to amber

    It is not explained anywhere I can find. However, it indicates that the integrity is below the required value to conduct the approach and that a downgrade to LNAV is likely. If the integrity improves to the required value, the LPV annunciation will turn green. Otherwise, at 1 minute prior to reaching the FAF, the GTN650 will downgrade to LNAV.

    The actual parameters for integrity are not displayed, but on the System>GPS Status page, the value of VFOM (Vertical Figure of Merit) will normally have to be lower than 60 feet to not get the amber indication for an LPV with a DH of 250 feet or higher, or lower than 40 feet to not get a amber indication if the DH is below 250 feet.
