G1000 AHRS/ADC failure

Hello everyone,

 

On a G1000 equipped C172S, should the AHRS/ADC failure happens, we go to the Standby instruments; AI, ASI, and Altimeter to fly in IFR or practice partial panel.

So, unlike other round gauge aircraft, can I say that:-

ALT - Primary pitch

ASI- Supporting Pitch 

MC - Primary bank

What kind of instrument is AI referred during partial panel flight?

    The primary/supporting method can be confusing because depending on the stage of flight, the primary instruments change. For this reason, I (and I think most people) prefer teaching and using the “control/performance” method. But to answer the question, this chart (http://www.touringmachine.com/Articles/ifr/108/) details all the different scenarios and what their respective primary and supporting instruments are. In most cases, the attitude indicator is supporting, and would continue to be in a partial panel situation. In fact, the only thing that would change on this chart in a partial panel situation in a G1000 is that the heading indicator is now the magnetic compass, and you would have no turn coordinator or VSI, so I would perhaps replace those with the attitude indicator.
