Are steep turns and slow flight still required for the IFR checkride?

I am working on my instrument rating and my CFII has me doing steep turns and slow flight under the hood. I don't see these anyplace in the current PTS for the instrument rating. Will DPE make me do these these on the IR checkride?

I don’t think steep turn and slow flight is part of the checkride my IR checkride was flight plan with point A to point B and actual IFR then shoot 3 approaches + circling. I think that’s about it i do remember that i had to do steep turn and slow flight for some of lessons

If you looked at the Instrument PTS (available for free on the FAA website), you would see that steep turns and slow flight are not maneuvers which are test.

Congratulations to your CFI for going above and beyond the bare minimum requirements.

Thanks, no complaints just wanted to find out experiences. It does help with controlling the aircraft under instruments to practice different maneuvers under the hood.

Hello folks, doesn’t look like slow flight is there, but I’ve just started working through the CFII PTS and that’s where you find Steep Turns. So while it’s not necessarily a required task (examiner has to choose Task H. and one other), it’s definitely there in the instructor test.
