Rocket Ship sectional

Asked by: 3997 views Airspace

Hey all,

Looked around on the Internet and couldn't find the answer to this and checked my sectional legend but the answer wasnt on it, looking at KVQQ and there is a rocket ship next to the airport. I assume this means it's a space sport but I hadn't seen that denoted on a sectional before. Can anyone provide some insight on it?

Well the last line in the remarks in the a/fd says that the airport is a space launch activity area. So they launch things into space there. Looks like some kind of launch pad in the airport diagram.

Touché a/fd totally skipped my kind, I was thinking they’d have an explanation of it on the sectional legend.

Neat find. I love finding stuff like that. There are all sorts of weird symbols.
