FAA IFR currency

Hello fellow pilots, I'm an FAA commercial instrument pilot and I'm leaving abroad (EASA country). My question is: Can I log the training spent in a non-FAA FTD/ATD? Can I maintain instrument currency using a non-FAA FTD? Many thanks   Pipa

    See the Holmes legal interpretation.

This letter appears to allow use of an FTD or ATD (as well as FS) only if it has been approved by the FAA.
