Weather Reporting

Asked by: 2997 views Airspace, FAA Regulations

To the east of KSEA on the Seattle sectional , just outside the magenta mode C circle, you will see "Stampede Pass ASOS". What airports does this ASOS cover? Or is it a ASOS for the general Stampede Pass area of which I do see a few small airports east of Stampede Pass?

Thank you for the feedback.

Like all AWOS/ASOS, the Stampede Pass one concerning only give information about exactly where it is located. The Stampede Pass one is like a large number of mountain AWOS/ASOS sites in Colorado that are located at commonly flown mountain passes. Their purpose is to provide wind and weather information in the pass rather than for any particular airport.
