Hello,
I'm trying to make things clear on different ways to make IFR departure (Part 91). Please help me if I'm getting things wrong or missing anything. Thanks.
Uncontrolled airspace: (assuming SID is not an option)
* Departure with no clearance. Obstacle clearance is up to me (legal to operate under IFR weather). Eventually clearance is required before entering controlled airspace.
* ODP. climb greadient must be met.
Controlled airspace:
* SID * ODP
1. Departing from controlled airspace, is there a way to make an IFR departure without SID or ODP? (weather is IFR)
2. A departure from Class E (also class G). once I get a clearance from ATC, if they don't specify how I should make a departure (which route I should be taking), does this mean I can take any route as far as I proceed to the starting fix?
