    “Best” is really subjective. It’s rather like asking what is the best flavor of ice cream. You cannot go wrong with any of the major schools.

    I’m a fan of Sporty’s because it’s not just knowledge test prep. It’s not only ground, but follows a flight training syllabus. If your instructor will use it – Sporty’s made it free to CFIs a year or two ago – you can prepare for your lesson in advance and review it later. And your instructor can follow your ground school progress.

    I also like Gold Seal Online Ground School. Excellent ground school program put together by a good team. The organization has been around with their private pilot program, the instrument program was released this past year.

    If all you are looking for is “drill and prep” for a knowledge test, it really doesn’t matter.
