Logging SE Turbine Time

My son recently completed his Instrument Rating.  He also has his high performance and complex sign-offs.  My question is, can he log Turbine time while flying in my airplane if he doesn’t have his high altitude sign-off?  My airplane is certified to 30k but I would only have him fly at or below 25k.

    Good question to get us back to exactly what the reg says…

    He may not act as PIC, however can log PIC under the usual conditions.

    An endorsement is required for:
    “…an aircraft that has a service ceiling or maximum operating altitude, whichever is lower, above 25,000 feet MSL”

    Endorsements are not ratings. Assuming you are talking about an airplane that does not require a type, if the category/class of your airplane (i.e., airplane, single engine land) matches the category/class ratings on his pilot certificate (i.e., airplane, single engine land), that\’s all that is required.

    If Your turbine a twin and his rating is AMEL, no go.

    If your turbine requires a type rating and it\’s not on the back of his certificate, also no go.
