night requirement with a co-pilot?

If i do my 3 night landings for currency can i do that with another pilot for it to count? I believe if i do it with a CFI i'm ok - but what about a friend who is rated in the category/class for the plane?

    What you can’t do is “act as PIC” and carry passengers at night, an hour past sunset to an hour before sunrise, unless you are current for night flight. However, if the other pilot is both rated and current including current for night flight, they may “act as PIC” for the flight. If you then do the three take-off and landings to re-establish currency, you may log the time as PIC, night and the take-off and landings will count towards meeting your night currency. The other pilot must act as PIC, which makes you their passenger. If you are the sole manipulator of the controls and rated for the aircraft, you may log the time as PIC and the other pilot, not being an instructor, may not log any of the time that you are the sole manipulator of the controls.
