Airplane flying handbook or Pilot's handbook of aeronautical knowledge?

 

Which should you study first? I've noticed that one has definitions which seem to complement the other--what does anyone recommend here?

    Short answer…..both. I think you’ll find that referencing both will give you answers you need. AFH is geared more for the practical test and PHAK more for the knowledge test. But, they do complement each other. You’ll figure it out.
