private pilot multi engine rating question

FAA Regulations

I am a private pilot with my instrument rating. I want to get my multi engine rating over my Christmas break but I cannot find in the FARAIM if there is a total hour requirement. I know that there is an hour requirement (250 total and all the specific hours) for the commercial multi engine rating, but I can't find anything that is just for the multi alone. Does anyone know?

    To add a multi engine rating on to your Private Pilot certificate, you fall under the provisions of 61.63c. Take a look at this, you will see that the requirements are very relaxed.
