VFR Cross Country Checkpoints

I just got curious with Spacing between checkpoints for planning VFR XC for Private Student.

I am working at part 141 school and does anyone know reference or sources that mentions about how far checkpoints must be apart?

I would like a exact location of the reference or source so I can better study !

    There is no regulation or policy concerning distance between checkpoints.

    This is where the judgement of the Flight Instructor comes into play (this is why you get the big bucks). Think back to your student days. Would you have been comfortable with checkpoints that were 50 miles apart? If not, how far apart were your checkpoints when you were a student?

    Also, since you are working at a 141 school, you should really be taking this up with the Chief Instructor for the school.
