Number of hours a pilot can fly

Let us say that I am on a trip for a time building from A  to B, and round trip is said to be 10hour. Is there any restriction for a pilot to fly not more than a certain hours a day?

I searched FAR and found out 91.1057 which sounds a bit relevant to airlines.

    No flight crewmember may fly more than twenty-four (24) consecutive hours in any one (1) calendar day.

    Sir, I am talking about just a time building, a commercial pilot flying to build up his time(GA)

    Your reference sounds more like part 121 operation.

    Steve, Jim’s “regulation” is obvious if you read it carefully.

    Something to do with physics and the rotation of the earth and clocks.

    But no, there is no limitation for numbers of hours in a day for the situation you describe – a private flight under Part 91, excluding of course a risk assessment showing that it would be unsafe to fly more than X hours.

    As a guide, consider that flight instructors may not conduct more than 8 hours of flight training in any 24-hour period (61.195a).

    Any more is risking undue fatigue, even for time-building under part 91 operation.
