how do you compute landing distance for a cessna 172 short field landing when all performance data charts in poh say flaps 40 degress and air craft you are given has flap slector switch has been altered to only allow 30 degrees of flap.

    This may not be the answer you\’re looking for, but I would recommend going and practicing on a safe strip making note of the conditions and find out how much distance you need for your technique and skill level. Just remember that you sometimes need more room to take off than to land.
