As a Private Pilot, is it legal to film a flight with Intention to post on YouTube, etc for Compensation

This question was asked previosly by someone else, but I don't see an answer pertaining to the specifics that I am curious about. Is it legal, with only a Private Pilot license (not commercal or ATP), to film a flight with the full intention of posting the video on YouTube or some other site with the inetion of receiving payment from YouTube for views/ads, as well as compensation from viewers from sites such as Patreon. I've seen several people doing this and they appear to be receiving enough money to more than cover the cost of their flights (in some cases $1600+ per video), they are stating that the money is going towards video production costs (not flight costs), but not sure if it's legal to flat out say the money is going towards flying costs... I already understand the consequences of filming and posting something that violates regulations, etc. And I sort of understand the fact that flying IFR prohibits the use of electronics that may cause interference (althought I'm not sure how you definitively determine this)... Thanks in advance for any input.
