Using previous complex time towards commercial rating
Asked by: Eric L 3942 views Commercial Pilot
Hello,
I am currently pursuing my commercial rating-SEL and have most of the requirements met. I currently hold PPL-single/multi and instrument-single. My multi is VFR-only. I have approximately 40 hours of complex and am wondering if I can use my previous complex time towards the 10 hours of complex needed for the commercial rating. I am a part owner of a C-182 straight leg and it is much cheaper for me to practice the commercial maneuvers in my plane vs renting a retract for 2x the cost. I realize I will need to rent one for all or at least part of the checkride but want to minimize my costs as much as possible. Thanks in advance for your replies.
