Logging PIC Time

Assume an appropriately rated CFI C and 3 private rated pilots AL, AB and AM.
            Client AL is a private pilot WITHOUT a high perfomance endorsement.
            Client AB is a private pilot with an expired BFR.
            Client AM is a private pilot with an expired medical.
 
Are dual training flights logged in the clients logbook as PIC when the client AL is working towards a HP endorsement ?
Are dual training flights logged in the clients logbook as PIC when the client AB is working towards a BFR ?
 
Does the client's PIC logging status change depending upon the clients medical validity during dual flights ?

    Simple answer:

    A … private … pilot may log pilot in command flight time for flights-
    When the pilot is the sole manipulator of the controls of an aircraft for which the pilot is rated…

    Do you see anything about requiring endorsements? Ore current medical certificates? Or current FR? Or and number of other things? Neither do I.

    Yep. 61.51 means exactly what it says. And the FAA Chief Counsel has consistently agreed with that meaning for more than 33 years.

    Thanks, I’m trying to get active again as a Private Pilot, but have to resolve some medical issues and I want to log dual time as pic
