Can I log dual time in a military aircraft?

I'm fortunate enough to be able to go up with an Air Force Instructor Pilot in a T-38 and was wondering if I can log this as dual recieved since I have a PPL?

    Master-of-blagging-jet-rides Stephen Force of the Airspeed Podcast fame had 1.0 dual in an F-16 written in his log by the airforce instructor.

    He’s since even logged B2 simulator time.

    So bring your log!

    Also – remember – it’s your logbook – you can enter whatever you want in it. The question is about can you show logged time to meet the proficiency and currency requirements required by the FAA. They may restrict what ‘type’ of time can be used to meet those requirements – but they don’t govern what can be entered into the logbook.

    Just to add that the status or even existence of your PPL is not relevant.

    “Student pilots” are just people who walk in off the street and can log dual received, ground instruction etc. as much as they want, all before they have a student pilot certificate.

    So to log the time all you need to be is human (and now I think of it I’m not sure I can find that in the FARs).

    You can log the time, but you need the instructor to sign for any instruction given. Otherwise it’s a bit foolish to log dual-received without the other party.
