CFI Renewal Date

The renewal on my CFI is 9-2014. Last month I added the instrument to my CFI, will this change my renewal date to 8-2015? I haven't gotten in my permanent license yet. Thanks DeWitt

    Yes, you are correct. Per 61.197(a)(1)(ii), you renewed your flight instructor certificate by passing a practical test for an additional flight instructor rating, therefore by 61.197(b)(1) your certificate is valid 24 months from the month of your passed practical test.
