Aviation battery amp hours

Asked by: 1244 views Aircraft Systems

Good day,

Am I correct in my definition and example of an amp-hour?

The amount of energy charge in a battery that will allow one ampere of current to flow for one hour.

For example, Battery 1 is a 10 amp 24 volt. It will sustain a 10 amp load for about 1 hour. Due to some internal inefficiencies of the battery, you probably will not get the full hour.

Thanks for your time and assistance.

    That’s pretty much it.

To be more accurate, the battery would be a 10 A-H (amp-hour), 24 V battery, but it seems you’ve got the general idea.
