SIC rating Application

FAA Regulations

Hello Sirs,

I was converting my foreign license to an FAA license, and just passed the ATP checkride and got my temporary ATP license with DC9 and Multi Engine Land.

The School filed a manual 8710 form and they sent it to the FAA already but my temporary license does not have a certificate number yet. It says "pending".

I am getting instruction for a SIC rating in the Cessna 500 series, and I understand an ATP pilot with his PIC rating in the C500 can sign me an endorsment, fill a new 8710 form and apply in the FSDO for the SIC rating in my license.

The problem is I still not have a certificate number, and I dont have an IACRA account with that certificate, so I dont know if I am able to fill a 8710 form without my certificate number. I already registered in IACRA without the certificate number but I dont have any application yet since they filled it mannually at my school.

What would be the best way in order to get my SIC rating without having to wait for the license to come to my mail in a couple of months?

Thank you in advance

Ricardo

Your best bet would be to call Airman Certification in Oklahoma City at 866-878-2498.

If they have processed your paperwork, they can give you the certificate number. If not, they may have the FSDO place “Pending” on your SIC temporary.

Note 61.55(d) which will tell you what you need to take to the FSDO with you.

Also, note the requirement to repeat the training every 12 months to continue acting as SIC.
