Pillot-in-Command, Right Seat

Private Pilot

Could a certified private pilot ( not a CFI) sit on the right seat of a Skyhawk 172 and still be a pilot in command. I would appreciate you making refences to FAA on this.  Thanks

    There is no FAA regulation that prevents this, and as such no reference.  The only problem you may face would be your insurance company.  They might have a problem with you occupying the right seat.

    There ae other possible problems you may face that define the location of the PIC, aircraft certification, renters agreement etc. However, as Kris points out there is no FAA regulation to quote because this is one (of many) situations where that which is not specifically prohibited is allowed.
