Can someone else find out if I hold a pilot’s certificate or not?

Hi guys,

I have a question out of curiosity.

Some airline companies like the ones in Hong-Kong or Taiwan hire completely new people as cadet pilots and train them all the way to ATP and a jet pilot. In most cases the requirement for application is that you don't hold any pilot certificates issued by ICAO contracts including FAA.

Let's say you had an FAA commercial pilot license but you wanted to apply to it cuz u get to live in Hong-Kong, get paid, rest assured of a promised job or whatever reason.

How would they check or make sure that you don't hold any of ICAO certificates? or at least FAA?

any thoughts?

    It is quite easy to verify whether you hold a certificate or not.

    Go to this link:

    https://amsrvs.registry.faa.gov/airmeninquiry/

    Type in your name and click Search.

    They would likely not be happy if they learned that you lied on your application.

    You could surrender your certificates before applying…
