    247′ msl DA on the ILS and 2 DME from I-KOA (localizer dme).

    I-KOA 2 DME fix. This is one of the most frustrating things about the FAA charts. Jeppesen puts an M over the MAP which helps eliminate confusion like this, but the FAA does not. You really just have to infer that, since the MAP has to be after the VDP which is at 2.9 DME, and there are no other fixes or a timing table, it must be at 2 DME since that’s the only other possible choice.

    Sorry, the 247′ DA (MAP) is for the ILS, and your question was for the MAP when flying the LOC/DME to RWY 17, which is 2 DME from I-KOA (localizer dme).

    It’s at the runway threshold like many nonprecision approaches. In this case, it’s identified by 2 DME on the localizer rather than timed or a GPS waypoint.
